Boiii's "active internet connection" issue

hello, its been a while and now i have a different issue

I am trying to run BOIII on a new installation and get the "Boiii needs active internet" error

I have tried:
Running the game as admin
Change DNS to 1.1.1.1 (cloudflare)
removing the LocalAppdata Boiii folder (as stated in the F.A.Q. guide)

I downloaded the latest boiii version from github and also downloaded the blackops3.exe from the guide

(Boiii: https://github.com/Ezz-lol/boiii-free/releases/tag/v1.0.2)
(BO3exe: https://forum.ezz.lol/topic/5/bo3-guide and clicking the New version of BlackOps3.exe)

Boiii is in my bo3 folder with the .exe, I do NOT have bitdefender anymore on my PC and have excluded the folder from microsoft antivirus

I am now at a loss of what to do/try next :/

Hey, did you try downloading the LocalAppdata (C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\boiii) files manually? (if there is no "boiii" folder, you can create one)
